At the same time, don’t expect responsiveness at the level of Sekiro – it’s also logged in Souls, which negatively affects the feeling of gameplay.
Bastard Miyazaki
Despite the generally uniform combat tactics compared to Dark Souls, pluralism in the lists of Lies of P is brought about by multi-fingered opponents, a wide selection of melee weapons, their interchangeable handles and prosthetic attachments. Not counting the feature with handles (really an invention of the century!), the gameplay in this game is nothing special. For some players this will be a big plus, but for others it will be a disadvantage. The entire passage does not leave the feeling that FromSoftware decided to take a break from the open worlds of Elden Ring and make a light corridor reskin of their old games, without even bothering with any non-linearity of locations. So it’s obvious to everyone that among the developers of Lies of P – studios Neowiz Games and Round8 Studio – the bastard Miyazaki has wormed his way in. In this regard, I would like to say: “Hidetaka, bring Jon Snow home and don’t even think about visiting King’s Landing!".
Atomic Heart of the Toxic Swamp Cult

Tales from the Crypt for Little Ones
Comparing Lies of P with its real source – The Adventures of Pinocchio – does not benefit the game. The fact is that the popular book by Carlo Collodi is a harsh dark satire, based on which you can create an ENT in the style of Blasthemous, coupled with Alice in Wonderland. For those who don’t know, in this children’s fairy tale, Geppetto’s father faced a prison, and his wooden son – the loss of limbs in a fire, an attempt to be burned alive, blows with a sharp point in the liver and more, a sweet conversation with a dead girl in a house where everyone had long been dead, and as a result, the death of the hero himself by hanging. One of the first endings even ended there. At the same time, the fictional character Pinocchio was based on the image of a real “wooden” man of the same name with a very sad fate. The level of darkness of this work, I think, is clear.
Collodi does not smell
Lies of P begins with an equally sad story, where an army of automatons, called here puppets, slaughtered almost all the inhabitants of the Bioshock, prosperous city of Krat, and the remaining survivors were finished off by an incurable stone disease, which, according to the hopes of scientists, also managed to mutate into something very malicious. The plot unfolds slowly, gradually acquiring details, ENT, new characters. At the same time, there is not even a smell of virtuoso game on the level of Carl Collodi here. Although the scenario is interesting to follow, it has variability, forks, and does not have to be spelled out from the names of objects, as in most souls. However, this is not the adventures of Pinocchio, as the authors themselves stated directly. So formally there is no lie on their part, but there is a lie in the title of the game.
Like home – in hell
As conclusions. Any fan of FromSoftware’s souls games will feel right at home in Lies of P, because this is a meticulously copied clone. Here even the sounds of blows are the same! The game gives pain and suffering according to long-established formulas – everything we love. However, given the diversity of Elden Ring, suffering in tandem with Lying Pi can be especially painful. The main mechanics of parrying are far from ideal; there is no variability in passing locations – only a corridor with slight deviations. The Victorian-era setting, as well as the graphics, are pleasing to the eye. Local animations, including facial animations, do not make you cover your eyes in shame.
Lie or die
The weapon provides the ability to wield various types of melee weapons using the special abilities of the prosthetic left arm. Various opponents and events, including the scenario, do not let you get bored. Karabas – A special low bow to Barabas – he sold me the game. The ramifications of the plot are tied to the decisions and lies of the main character. Only the lazy one didn’t joke about the fact that lying makes Pi grow in size. In general, Lies of P has a lot to criticize, but as the first project of an independent studio, it’s great.
